2000 Pol Roger Cuvée Prestige “Sir Winston Churchill”
In 1946, my spirit human, Sir Winston Churchill, famously said “I could not live without champagne; in victory I deserve it; in defeat I need it.” Truer words were never spoken. Pol Roger was Churchill’s favorite champagne so it’s only fitting that the champagne house named its tête de cuvée (top-quality wine) after the legendary politician. This stuff has a stiff upper lip and it’s delicious. Walker shortbread cookies, yeast, lemon curd, toast, and chalk on the nose. A mousse (bubbles) so nice it feels like a cloud. Starts with lemon curd and biscuit on the palate, carries to shortbread, and finishes with lemon. Crisp acidity.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier
Fidelity has been faithfully waiting at the Wood County Humane Society in Bowling Green, Ohio for more than a year.
She’s getting a little tired of waiting, though, and who can blame her? She can be shy in the shelter, but she opens up once you get to know her. Fidelity is a cuddle bug, who wants a lap to curl up on!
She’s FIV+ so you have to be extra careful with her health, but a little love and devotion can overcome such a challenge!
